LPRGC Events Calendar

Learn the rules, etiquette, and techniques of trap shooting from LPRGC's NRA certified instructors.

6PM – 8PM on the first Monday of each month from April through October. The September session is on the second Monday due to holiday. $20/person (due at time of registration) covers 12ga or 20ga ammunition, targets, and instruction. Participants will also receive a coupon for one free round of trap at a future LP shoot.

This program is designed for individuals who have little or no experience with shotgun sports. It is intended to be a one-time introductory course for new shooters ages 11 through adult. All participants should be physically capable of shouldering and operating a shotgun without assistance. 

Areas to be covered: Feet/body positioning, mounting the shotgun, hold points, focus points, swing/follow through, and other concepts necessary to successfully break clay targets. After a 45 minute classroom session, participants will shoot a round of trap under the supervision of an instructor.

Eye and ear protection are required.

This program is only available to members of LPRGC. Each participant must have a shotgun.

Junior Pistol is for juniors in grades 7 and beyond, firearm safety , the basics of pistol marksmanship, and skills for action pistol competitions. Juniors are introduced to the proper use of basic equipment used in target shooting. Pistols, targets, and all ammunition are provided by the club through the support of club members and the Lower Providence Youth Shooting Sports Association.

Inter-County Rifle League, smallbore 3-Position Indoor Winter Season.

The Inter-County Rifle League is a group of rifle teams representing their individual areas in the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania to provide a venue for conducting competition for the small bore shooting community. Our activities are built around NRA standards to promote firearms safety and marksmanship and present a positive image to the general public.

The league runs matches throughout the year, focusing on 3P ISSF style shooting in the Fall and Winter, and outdoor prone matches in the Summer. Shooters in the ICRL league have gone on to be state and national champions and Olympians as well. Many of the junior shooters have earned scholarships on NCAA collegiate teams.

Rifle Orientation for LPRGC Members
- Rifle Range orientation only- no shooting at this event
- No equipment required
- No signup required- just come to the 100 Yard Range (location B1) at 12PM
- Rifle Range Orientation required for Rifle Range Shooting Qualification portion of process
- Rifle Range Shooting Qualification to be held on 4th Saturday of every Month

Members only.
You must have taken carbine 2 to participate.

Round count is about 200.
.22lr and Pistol Calibre carbines only.

There are S&W M&P 15-22 loaners and slings available.

Shooting portion of the 2-part Rifle Range Qualification process
- You must have attended a Rifle Range Orientation prior to attending the Shooting Qualification event
- Please bring your rifle, eye and ear protection, and 40-50 rounds of ammunition
- Basic boresighting will be available for new optics/rifles

This event is intended for those who wish to practice shooting in multiple positions (prone, seated, kneeling, standing).  All shooting will be done at 100 yards.  Please bring your own rifle and ammunition- 50-100 rounds should be sufficient.  You will practice shooting in whichever positions you want to shoot from under instruction of an NRA Instructor.  Come on out to get tips, tricks, and trigger time in the different positions.  This is a great way to practice for the Multiple Position Bay Qualification test!

There are no pre-requisites for attendance at this class, though NRA Basic Rifle is strongly recommended.
